I have been experiencing "DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION" BSODs for a few months now, and after posting about it here, it appears the cause is due to the Intel Smart Connect Technology Driver. I have uninstalled the program from my computer, but I have had trouble uninstalling the driver itself from Device Manager. Every time I reboot, the uninstalled driver reinstalls itself.
Here are the event logs (found in the Properties of the Smart Connect Driver in Device Manager) during the last time this happened:

So my question is: how do I prevent my computer from reinstalling this driver?

That seems to have stopped it reinstalling itself, so that's good! I'll see if this stops the BSODs. Thanks!
Hi,
Windows 8 automatically installs the drivers for newly added hardware. You can follow these steps and check if it helps:

Chkdsk disclaimer.
Important: While performing chkdsk on the hard drive if any bad sectors are found on the hard drive when chkdsk tries to repair that sector if any data available on that might be lost.
Note: I highly recommend backing up all of your important files and folders onto an external storage device before attempting any type of OS repair or upgrade.
Hope this helps. If you need further assistance with Windows, let us know and will be glad to help.
