When I booted it, it didn't get stuck.
But when I booted it, it was on the "Starting Windows Screen" for longer than usual, i was about to force shut it down because it was taking long, but right then, it booted.

I have an ASUS i5 laptop Model: K55A.
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.
Once I started my computer, it got stuck on the "Starting Windows" screen. I force shut down, and later got it to desktop using startup repair. It happened again, and each time I would use startup repair to start it. And then one time, in start up repair it said : "Startup Repair cannot fix this computer automatically" and it asked me whether I wanted to send Microsoft information about this and I clicked "Send information about this problem (recommended)" And then it said a bunch of stuff about a new device added to your computer, but i don't have any new devices attached to my laptop. Then it said "Startup repair cannot repair your computer automatically" "Click Finish to exit and shut down your computer."
I tried everything. it wont turn on for the past 4 days.
And if you're gonna say Safe Mode, then dont, because i cant access safee mode. if i force shut down by pressing the power button, it will just say, startup repair, or start windows normally. if i click finish in the startup repair thing then it will shut down, and then when i start, it will automatically start normally and get stuck again.

Hello Misha,
Thank you for keeping us updated about the issue.
I would suggest you to run a full scan using Microsoft Safety Scanner (MSS) to make sure that the Computer is virus free.
The Microsoft Safety Scanner is a free downloadable security tool that provides on-demand scanning and helps remove viruses, spyware, and other malicious software. It works with your existing antivirus software.
http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx
**Note:**The Microsoft Safety Scanner expires 10 days after being downloaded. To rerun a scan with the latest anti-malware definitions, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.
Note: Any data files that are infected may only be cleaned by deleting the file entirely, which means there is a potential for data loss.
Hope this information is helpful. If the issue still persists, please post back with current status of your issue and result of the proposed suggestion, we'll be glad to assist you.

based on the symptoms of this problem, I recommend checking your hard drive for errors, using the thorough option (all 5 stages of the Check Disk utility)
If you can boot to your desktop (either normally, or in safe mode), use the following directions.
This will perform a thorough check of your hard drive, including a surface scan. The amount of time this scan will take depends on the size of your drive, how many files are stored on it, and any errors it might find. You may need to reboot a second time in order to know whether this has fixed your problem.
Hope it helps.
No, I have not made any hardware or software changes to my computer recently.
I am not getting any error messages.
oh by the way i got to my desktop by using system restore. i restored it to the 21st (there was no restore point prior to the 21st), but the problem started before that, so i don't think it fixed the problem permenantly.
and no the problem hasn't happened since the restore.
