Does anyone know if there are compatibility problems with Adobe Acrobat X Pro and Windows 8.1 please? I'm unable to get Acrobat to work at all. I have the app short cut icon visible in the task bar but nothing happens when I click on it.

Can anyone offer any explanation or solutions please?

Thank you

Brian

Hello Andre, thank you so much for your reply to my problem. I tried what you suggested but unfortunately it has not worked. I re-installed it and it looked like it was loading and got the message that installation was successful but still not working. The strange thing is that if I want to save as a pdf it works OK and it appears in the folder as such but I cannot open in Adobe Acrobat.

I have an identical setup on my laptop and it works fine there. I've compared all of the settings and they all match but still unable to open.

Are you able to offer any other possible resolutions please?

Thanks very much for your help.

    Kind regards

    Brian

Thank you very much for your reply Panikai. I clicked on the link to run the uninstaller but it says it can only be used on stand alone Adobe Acrobat 10. Mine is part of Adobe CS6 Design Standard. All other apps in CS6 function perfectly well, just Acrobat 10 is the problem.

    Can you advise further please?

    Thanks and regards

    Brian

    Hi,

As per the compatibility report at Windows Compatibility center, Adobe Acrobat X is compatible to Windows 8.1. Refer to the link to get the details:

    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/compatibility/CompatCenter/ProductDetailsViewer?Name=Adobe%20Acrobat%20X&vendor=Adobe&Locale=1033%2C2057%2C3081%2C4105%2C16393&ModelOrVersion=10&BreadCrumbPath=Adobe%20Acrobat%20X&LastSearchTerm=Adobe%2BAcrobat%2BX&Type=Software&tempOsid=Windows%208.1

I would suggest you to run the Adobe Acrobat uninstaller to uninstall it completely as there could be traces in the registry or the temporary folder. You can refer to the link to download and run the uninstaller:

    http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html

After that, reinstall Adobe acrobat and check if it works. If the issue still persists, you may contact Adobe support. Refer to the link to post the query in Adobe forums:

Please let us know the status of this issue.
