Hi there,

Just started using windows 8.1 and I'm wondering how to close a website page as I can't find an x anywhere on my screen. As I browsed other websites, the music from the previous one kept playing as there was no way to properly close it. I am quite disappointed with this, please help! Thanks

Are you using the desktop or tile Internet explorer?

If the latter, move the mouse to the bottom of the screen and left click. You will find tabs and the x's to close the site by going to the right bottom and selecting the icon that looks like two overlapping pages.

    Hi Lead3,

yes I'm using a tile on a new Acer laptop. Trying to get familiar with navigating with no touchscreen or mouse (so far used desktop and an apple iPhone mainly!). Thanks for the tip, managed to find the "x's" moving the cursor right, then right clicking, very happy to have gotten rid of the music! Thank you once again for the quick and useful reply :-)
