Hi! I used quick assist to know how to change my icon on desktop for word document. The helper was quite confused initially. Then they went forward to access my personal files which I kept safe in another folder. Thankfully because of the encryption they couldn't open it. At first I thought they were simply opening a document. Apparently, they went forward into my personal files started scrolling up and down and viewing all of them, including my OneDrive. It was extremely unprofessional and scary.
Thankfully the moment they started scrolling, I stopped the session. But this unprofessional behavior is sketchy. Personal request: Don't use Quick Assist or get all your personal files, accounts, bookmarks etc out of the computer as if it is new and then go for it. Even then, I wouldn't recommend. It is a big risk.
I wanted to know how I can know that my files are still secure and that I have not just been scammed.

Quick Assist is just a tool. You personaly choose the helper who can operate your machine remotely.
You should use this functionality only with trusted parties.
If you have any questions regarding privacy you should contact the party who employs the formentioned helper.
All remote acces tools works like this. Remote Assistance, Team Viewer, VNC and this Quick Assist. Tool is tool behavior is behavior :)
