SMART Board 800 and want to get touchscreen working on it.

Original title: Multi-screen touch screen?

Hello-

We have a SMART Board 800 in our school, and I want to get touchscreen working on it. The touchscreen *works*, to an extent.

We have it set up so that the normal HP monitor is plugged in by DisplayPort, and the SMART Board is plugged in by VGA. All the cables and drivers are installed correctly, and yadda yadda yadda.

My problem is, when I touch the screen - a cursor follows me. I can't right click, I can't scroll, I can only do a basic left click. When the SMART Board is plugged in all by itself, or with the other monitor off, it's fine. Everything works.

Any ideas?

    Hi,

    You may try these steps:

    To enable gestures

    1. Open the SMART Control Panel from the Windows® notification area

    2. Press SMART Hardware Settings. The upper area of the Control Panel displays an image of the SMART product

    connected to the computer.

    3. Press the image of the product whose settings you want to change

    4. Select Mouse and Gesture Settings from the list

    5. Select Enable Single-Touch Gestures

    6. If you haven’t done so already, select Multitouch Mode

    7. Press OK to close the Control Panel

    For Right Click:

Press and hold your finger on the interactive surface for

three seconds or Press the Right-Click button on the SMART Pen Tray

    Hi Ben,

Did you install the correct version of windows 8.1 software for the board?

This issue may occur if the correct Smart Board drivers/software are not installed.

Let’s try to install the latest application and check:

Installing SMART Meeting Pro 4.0 software on a Windows 8.1 operating system

You may also contact Smart Board support for more information regarding the same:

    Contact SMART support

For further information, refer to the link:

Upgrading the ECP firmware for a SMART Board 800 series interactive whiteboard

Hope the information helps. Let us know if you need further assistance with Windows related issues. We will be happy to help.

There's only one set of software for Windows, and it's definitely Windows 8.1 compatible. Like I said, the board works when it's a single monitor by itself.

SMART Meeting Pro isn't the issue that I'm dealing with. It's the overall touch screen.

And the firmware is all up-to-date.
