BSOD BCODE 124 - Please help

Hey guys, I've been having this BSOD error for awhile now and I haven't done anything about it because in the past it has only occurred probably like once every week so I've been ignoring it, but now it's gotten to the point where it occurs frequently like once every 5-10 minutes or even less. I'd appreciate it a lot if anyone can please help me try to resolve this issue. I have the crash report along with some tests I have done to rule out the possibilities of what it could be. I have almost tried everything to fix it, but have failed and can't really afford a new computer at the moment.

I'll start off with posting my computer specs:

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

Motherboard: Gigabyte Z68A-D3H-B3

Processor: Intel Core i5-2500k 3.3GHz

Ram: G.Skill Ripjaw X Series 8 GB DDR3

Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760

Here are two of the crash reports I was able to save:

If I remember correctly, these BSOD errors started occurring ever since I put in my new video card, but I have tried several attempts to fix this issue and to narrow down what the possibilities it could be.

  1. I have reformatted my computer cleaning up my SSD.
  2. I have made sure my video card drivers are completely up to date.
  3. I have also took out my video card and put in a different one to test and the BSOD still occurs.
  4. I have done the same with my ram replacing it with new ones but the error still happens.
  5. The same goes for my hard drives, I have a brand new one that I replaced my SSD with and installed windows on that hard drive, but the BSOD still occurs. I am currently using a SSD with Windows 7 installed on it and another hard drive with just important files that I have on it.

6.  I have checked my hard drives for hard disk and memory errors.

Thank you for your time and consideration, I really hope someone can help me resolve this issue.

I'm a bit confused, I thought I did post the minidump files. Which files are we looking at on the BlueScreenView? I copied and pasted the dump files exactly how they were shown from the program.

I have also ran the sfc /scannow and my system repaired a few corrupt files. I have not had a BSOD within the past hour, I'm not sure if this really fixed it, but I have my fingers crossed.

I have also ran the CheckDisk for one of my hard drives and nothing was found to have problems. My SSD for some reason tells me that it would run the schedule test once I reboot and when I did reboot the CheckDisk wasn't starting for some reason.

Better post the actual minidump files on your OneDrive or other file sharing sites so we can

analyze them which may help or may not.

All of them being 124 and all the CAUSE are Windows components (which means something else

drove them into Fault) both point to hardware.

We can analyze the minidumps if you make them available from the OneDrive or other file

sharing sites (such as MediaFire). If you have problems uploading the minidumps copy

them to the Desktop or the Documents folder and upload them from there.

    Adding files to your OneDrive

One-Drive - Share files and folders and change permissions

Zip or upload the contents of C:\Windows\minidump

Use OneDrive to upload collected files

Hey Rob thanks for replying. Sorry for the late response, I have been working on this all day and the problem is still occurring. I have went into my system and reseat all the cards, memory, and cables. I did find a few cables that weren't plugged in that needed to be. Although I thought that would of solved my problem, it did not. I also have a fan blowing into my system with the case taken off and the BSOD still occurs. I have downloaded the BlueScreenView program and have the minidumps available below.

    Hi,

References to Vista also apply to Windows 7.

This is my generic how to for proper driver updates :

This utility makes it easy to see which versions are loaded : Run DriverView - set VIEW to Hide

Microsoft drivers - update those without Dump in their names. (Also update the BIOS and

chipset drivers at the System/Motherboard Maker's site.)

DriverView - Free - utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.

For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,

description, version, product name, company that created the driver, and more.

    http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/driverview.html

For Drivers check System Maker as fallbacks and Device Maker's which are the most current.

Control Panel - Device Manager - Display Adapter - write down the make and complete model

of your video adapter - double click - Driver's tab - write down the version info. Now click UPdate

Driver (this may not do anything as MS is far behind certifying drivers) - then Right Click -

Uninstall - REBOOT this will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat that for Network - Network Card (NIC), Wifi, Sound, Mouse and Keyboard if 3rd party

with their own software and drivers and any other major device drivers you have.

Now go to System Maker's site (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) (as rollback) and then Device

Maker's site (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI as examples) and get their latest versions. (Look for

BIOS, Chipset and software updates at System Maker's site while there.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - Right Click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after

    each installation.

Always check in Device Manager - Drivers tab to be sure the version you are installing actually

shows up. This is because some drivers rollback before the latest is installed (sound drivers

particularly do this) so install a driver - reboot - check to be sure it is installed and repeat as

    needed.

Repeat at Device Makers - BTW at Device Makers DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER - check

    manually by model.

Manually look at manufacturer's sites for drivers - and Device Maker's sites.

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/ht/driverdlmfgr.htm

Installing and updating drivers in Windows 7 (updating drivers manually using the methods

above is preferred to ensure the latest drivers from System maker and Device makers are

    found)

    http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/43216-installing-updating-drivers-7-a.html

If you update drivers manually then it is a good idea to disable Driver Installations in Windows

Updates, this leaves Windows Updates ON however it will not install drivers which will usually

be older and cause issues. If Updates suggests a new driver then HIDE it (Right Click on it)

and then go look for new ones manually if you wish.

Memory tests do not catch all errors such as mismatched memory (possible even for sticks

that appear to be identical) and when faster memory is placed in system behind slower memory.

So it is best to also swap sticks in and out to check for those even if all memory tests fail to

    show a problem.

    Hi,

You might have dislodged something while you were in the system so double check every-

thing including all the cards, memory, and cables. Be sure the fans are running and the vents

are clear. Ensure ALL the fans are working. Try using a small fan blowing into the intake to

see if that helps (points to fans or other hardware if it does). Check the processor, heat sink,

    and the compound between them.

    ==========================================================

    These should help :

Could be heat related - try using a small fan to blow into the air intakes to see if that helps.

Does it just act like it loses power or does it shutdown in a normal manner? Heat related

does not always mean too much heat as it is very possible that something is too sensitive

to even normal levels of heat

Remove ALL power and reseat all cards, memory, and cables (both ends when possible) -

actually remove and replace - do not just snug. Remove the dust bunnies and clean the

vents. Check that the fans work (before and after opening the case). If a laptop about all

you can do is reseat the memory and clean the vents (still can try adding a small fan as a

    test).

This sounds like hardware so if the above does not help then you probably need the help

of a real computer shop (not leeks and peeks at a Best Buy or other Big Box Stores) or the

    System Maker's Support.

This is usually heat related, defective hardware, memory or even processor though it is

"possible" that it is driver related (rare). Remove ALL power and reseat all cards, memory

and cables (on both ends) - actually remove and replace - do not just snug. Make sure

the system has adequate ventilation - add a small fan blowing into intakes. Carefully

inspect the motherboard and other cards for damage. Pay attention to the fatal hardware error implication. You may need a real computer shop (not leeks and peeks at a BestBuy

or other BigBox stores) or the System maker's Support.

Check the processor seating, heat sink, and the compound between the processor and
