Wireless-N wifi repeater problems

I am using a Windows 7 64 bit laptop and up until very recently I was successfully using a Wireless-N Wifi Repeater, due to the signal being very week upstairs in my bedroom. However all of a sudden the Wifi Repeater has stopped showing as a network I can use on the laptop upstairs, it shows the name of the Wifi Repeater with a cross next to it. This is despite it being very strong with all 5 bars on the laptop downstairs.

I have tried all I can think of to fix this but with not being very tec savvy I don't really know what I am looking at. I have unplugged the Wifi Repeater then plugged it in again, tried to connect to the settings of the Wifi Repeater but kept on getting "Your connection has been reset" but have got no where with it as I can't get beyond that point.

I am now at a loss at what to try next and need desperately to find someone to help me, so if anyone out there can help me solve this (preferably in step by step form) I will be forever grateful. Thanks.

    Hello Jumbochick,

Thank you for keeping us updated about the issue and sorry for delayed response.

Before giving up and contacting to a technician I would suggest you to try the below mentioned steps and check if it helps.

You may flush the DNS and request a new IP address from your ISP server by following these steps.

    1. Go to Start, click All Programs and open Accessories.
    2. Right click on Command Prompt in the Program list and then select Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click OK.
    3. In the Command Prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER after each new line.

    ipconfig /flushdnsipconfig /releaseipconfig /renewexit.

Hope this would help. If issue still persists post back with current status of your computer and result of proposed suggestion, we will be happy to assist you.

    Thank you.

    Hi Anshul

Thank you for trying to fix my Wireless-N Repeater problems, but I have tried everything in the documents you sent me and nothing has worked. I will probably give up and either pay a technician or buy another device to boost my wifi. It will probably turn out to be something quite simple I have overlooked but what I haven't a clue.

    Regards

    Hello Anshul

Thank you for replying to my post, in answer to your question when I click the wireless network name that pops up when I click my signal, I get the following error box which is directly under it "The settings saved on this computer for the network do not match the requirements of the network" along with a cross (X).

The make and model of my computer is a Samsung R540.

Please send any and all information on how to fix this problem in step by step form as I'm no computer whiz.

    Regards

    Jumbochick
