I have Windows 7 Pro OS. When I tried to install drivers and software after downloading from the Microsoft website, I got a "system not compatible error, please check system requirements"  even though the box that this device comes in states Windows 7 as one of the system requirements. Another requirement is 64 bit and my system is that. Microsoft support was completely helpless and useless. Called 3 times. First time, the technician stated that even thought the system requirement stated Windows 7, that should included Windows 7 Pro  but offered no other help or assistance to install the drivers. Second time I called, the technician told me the exact opposite of the first, that I might need a Wireless device that was compatible specificall with Windows 7 Pro but offered no other assistance. The third time I called, the technician put me on hold to research and disconnected me after be on hold for 15 minutes.

    Hello Alex,

Thank you for posting your issue on Microsoft Community Forum. I appreciate your efforts towards resolving the issue. However, I would like to know some more information to narrow down the issue and provide you with better assistance.

    1. What is the make and model no. of the computer?
    2. Were they working fine before? If yes, then did you make any significant hardware or software changes to the computer prior to this issue?

The issue may arise if the old drivers are not compatible with the current version of Windows. So, I would suggest you to try the following methods and check if the issue persists:

    Method 1:

Please try to run the following fixit and check if you are able to get the issue fixed or get any additional error information.

Hardware devices are not working or are not detected in Windows

    http://support.microsoft.com/mats/hardware_device_problems/en-us

If the issue still exists, proceed to the next method.

    Method 2:

The issue may arise due to a conflict with the third party software or any startup program. So, I would suggest you to **clean boot** the system and then try installing the Mouse and Keyboard Center and the IntelliPoint software from the following links.

    Wireless Keyboard 800

    Wireless Desktop 800

If the issue still exists, proceed to the next method.

    Method 3:

Try the steps provided in the following link:

Troubleshoot response failures in wireless keyboard or mouse

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/838398/en-us

(Holds good for Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard 800 as well)

Also, try the additional steps from the following link.

Mouse, touchpad, and keyboard problems in Windows

Hope this information is helpful. If the issue still persists, please post back for further assistance, we'll be glad to assist you.
