Auto Scrolling in Windows 7 - How do you stop it??

Every time I open a folder or menu, the list scrolls straight down to the bottom.  Everything from printer properties, to document folders, sound settings etc etc etc.  All folders and menus do it and it's starting to really annoy me.  Even when I go to add something to favourites, if I click on the drop down to select a folder, it just scrolls back up and or down and won't let me select a folder, or even if I am installing a new program, it won't even let me select the country as it scrolls to the bottom.  Happens on the machine and on the net.  I have tried with and without a mouse, have tried 3 different mice and have uninstalled all three and done it over again, each time updating the drivers. Is it something to do with this 'aero' thing?  I think I've looked absolutely everywhere in the settings, but I still could have missed something.  Can someone please help??  I am using a brand new Lenovo ThinkPad with Win 7 Pro.  I'm at my wits end.. please help me......

    Hi,

    You may try these:

Step 1: Run a virus scan.

You can do an online virus scan by clicking on the link http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm   and Clicking on the Full Service scan and accept the Agreement.

Step 2: This can also happen if there are any software conflict. In Clean Boot, windows use a minimal set of services and startup programs so that software conflict is eliminated. To put the computer in clean boot state follow the steps in the article “How to perform Clean Boot”http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: Please ensure that the computer is set to start as usual by following the step 7 from the article.

I had the same problem. I thought it was a virus . After formating my laptop it still existed. So here's what i did.

Disconnect your mouse. If you have a touchpad laptop disable the touchpad and see if the problem persists. If yes then go to the sitehttp://www.keyboardtester.com/tester.html . Here you can see what is going on with keyboard. In my case the pagedown key was getting pressed. So I disabled pagedown key using Keytweak http://keytweak.software.informer.com/2.3/. And the problem was solved.

Possibly as a result of using winupdate to install reccommended updates, ie your graphics, in winupdate settings turn off reccommended updates, then reinstall graphics from Lenovo site
