Hi mydavid0615,

Without knowing the manufacturer, make and model of the mouse, it's hard to tell.  They're all different.

But that said, most I've seen have a button or a push bar underneath which when you move it as far as it will go will release the casing cover that holds the batteries (which I've found is normally on top at the back end of the mouse, but you can't and shouldn't try to get it to open until you release it as noted).

If that doesn't help, then please provide us with the above information about the mouse and we'll try to assist you from information on its website.

Good luck!

I came here when my mouse was dying.  It turns out I have a Dell KM632 wireless mouse, so this may or may not help you.  There is a diagram of how to do it on the bottom of my wireless Dell mouse.  I didn't have to do anything special on the bottom of the mouse--there's no lever to push or anything.  Just put the mouse in its normal upright position--then gently lift up the entire top--in my case, it's the entire top part that is above the first joint where the dull part meets the shiny sides.   Once you have the top off, it's pretty obvious what to do from there.  Mine took 2 AA batteries.  Good luck!  Then make sure you flip the on switch on the bottom of the mouse.

There is a tiny button on the bottom of the mouse. As near as I can tell pushing it does nothing. Basically you have to gently pry the cover off.
