Cannot install Samsung Kies on Window 8.1

Hi, has anyone else had any issues installing Samsung Kies on windows 8.1. I can get the exe program to start but it get stuck a "evaluating launch conditions". I have emailed Samsung and they say that they do not have an update coming out anytime soon. Woe is me and my calenders on the go :)

    I contacted Samsung Support in the UK.

    Samsung Support confirms that Kies is not compatible with Windows 8.1

    Just to check, a rep installed Kies and tried to get it working, without success. Kies installs OK with its drivers but the PC never detects the phone being connected.

    Do not waste your time trying to use Kies with a Samsung phone under Windows 8.1

    Can Samsung give an outlook as to when a version that supports Windows 8.1 might be released?

    Hi Pinaki,

    I have finally managed to install Samsung's Kies.

    I left the installer running overnight and it went past the point it had been stuck at previously.

    I have no idea how long it took but it was less than 14 hours.

    Hi Pinaki,

    According to the compatibility center Samsung Kies is compatible with windows 8.1. However I cannot install the program.

    I tried to run it it with the compatibility troubleshooter using both windows 8 and windows 7 modes but the program stalled at the same spot.

    I am using the most recent version of Samsung Kies. I have emailed Samsung to see if they are bringing out a newer version and there reply was not any time soon.

    This issue could be a compatibility issue for the version of Samsung Kies that you are trying to install.

    Which version of Samsung Kies are you trying to install? Or, for which model of the the Samsung mobile are you trying to install the software?

    As far as compatibility of the Samsung Kies is concerned, refer to the link to get the details on it:

    You can click on the version of the kies from the list and check if it’s voted as compatible with Windows 8.1. You can also check for the latest updates related to the compatibility with Windows 8.1 at the Samsung website.

    In the meantime, you can try running the setup in Windows compatibility mode and see if it works. Refer to the link to run the program in compatibility mode by running the compatibility troubleshooter:
