Four Suit Spider Solitaire Problem

I have always played the four suit option of spider solitaire exclusively. I stopped playing about two months ago with 499 games, winning 20%. I recently started playing the Daily Challenge which has spider solitaire with only one suit. I have now discovered that playing the four suit option only allows a move of only the bottom card(s) in a column of the same suit. Using Windows 8.1, I think. Did playing the single suit affect the functioning in four suit?

    I checked the how to play and it says that the object is to get a column of cards of all the same suit. When did the rules change? Those 499 games I played required a column of cards to have a different suit above and below any card in a column.

    The 3 and 2 of hearts can be moved to the 4 of diamonds. The 2 of diamonds can be moved to the 3 of clubs. However the 3 of spades and the 2 of diamonds can not be moved to the 4 of diamonds.

    Can you show me one or more screenshots and annotate them to show me what you mean? It seems to me like you left something out and I'm not sure what you mean.

    I know that Daily Challenges have their own rules, but I have never heard of anything like this. There wasn't anything special about that daily challenge regarding how you were allowed to move cards, was there?
