    Hello John,

Thank you for posting your question on Microsoft community forum.

I would suggest you to download the scanner driver from the manufacturer’s website and install it in Windows 7 compatibility mode and check if it helps. Please follow these steps:

    a. Download the drivers from the manufacturer’s website.

    b. Right-click on the driver and click properties.

    c. Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab, check the box "Run this program in compatibility mode for” and select "Windows 7" from the drop down box.

    d. Click apply, click ok and then install the driver.

Please download the scanner driver from this link:

    http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?oid=14568&infoType=Downloads&platform=OSF_W_XP-32

    I hope this information helps.

Please do let us know if you need any further assistance.

    Thank you

Thank you for your very helpful reply. Unfortunately, the Epson website seems to detect that my computer (also) has XP on it, although I am accessing it in Windows 7. It then only lets me download  XP drivers. I could not find the 'compatibilty' tab anywhere, or any option run under Windows 7. My trip to the Epson website took me to America, where it wouldn't accept the UK as a country, and therefore wouldn't let me ask a question. A link to their European and UK site then failed to even acknowledge the existence of the 1200 Perfection.

    Many thanks,

     John Berry
