Download and try Cyberfox which is derivative of Firefox. I have it on my 8.1 and it installs and works perfectly.
Mozilla Firefox for Win 8.1
Yesterday I upgraded my Win 8 to 8.1, and after that I tried to install Mozilla Firefox as a browser, but I could not do it (whereas I did it in Win 8).
Then I searched on the Internet for a while and I saw that only in 2014 a Mozilla version compatible with Win 8.1 will be released.
Is that true? Is there no any possibility to install Firefox now?
Tnx

2014-07-31T22:35:49+00:00 Firefox has discontinued developing a browser version to run as a 'Start Screen' app, as they had low response to the test version released.
Firefox beta will give you the latest 'Desktop' version available for W8.1 / Upgrade 1
https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/beta/
Or you can use the latest release version;
https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/
Both work very well, have them installed on a variety of PC/Laptops, no hassles with either
Greetings, Shilohbob:
It's July 31st,2014...I switched out of Win 8.1 "Metro"/Tile screen very early on (like Feb 2014) .
Am HATING IE 11, been waiting for a stable platform/release from MFF to deal with Win 8.1.
Will MFF release 30 allow me to go back to a stable browser ? So many of my subscription sites hang up with IE 11, I am pulling my hair out. Thank you.

Unfortunately Mozilla are not planning to release a Metro version of MFF, well at least in the foreseeable future, check link above.
What I have done is placed Firefox on my Start Screen, the current general release is MFF #31, if you go to their beta site you can download an even later version, link below;
