Just recently upgraded my computer, have installed Adobe Reader XI.

    Hi,

We apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you.

Let me quickly ask you some questions. Please answer to the following questions to assist you better.

    1. Did you upgraded from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1?
    2. What is the complete error message?
    3. Is the issue confined to PDF files?
    4. What is the make and model of the printer?

Generally, the access denied error will occur if there are no proper permissions. I have found one setting from the Abode forums which might help you fix the issue.

I would have you disable protected mode within Adobe Reader and see if it fixes the issue.

    Here are the steps:

    1. Open Adobe Reader, go to Edit > Preferences > General and deselect Enable Protected Modeat      startup.
    2. Restart Reader and check the issue.

If the issue persists, please get back to us with the above information to assist you further.

I tried this and it didn't work me. But, my scenario is a little different, although I get the same error. I restored a PDF file using Windows 7 Ultimate Backup/Restore feature. The file was backed up using Windows Vista Ultimate. Any solution for my scenario?
