I did not succeed in getting the USB memory Kingston Data Traveler 100 G3 work on one of my computers (Windows 7).

But I did actually on another computer and there I found that driver is signed by Microsoft Windows. Version is 6.12.7601.17577. The date is 2006-06-21.

So, I only want a site from where I could download the driver routine.

Finally I have received an answer from a retail company, Claes Ohlson. There is a hardware thing that is missing on older computers that explains why Kingston 3.0 will not work. There will make no difference if I reinstall Windows. Either Kingston service or Zalman service could give me that answer. Nor could Microsoft Community give that answer. So I close the issue.

    Hello Ratandeep,

I cannot see any possibility to attach a word document so I just write down the message I receive first

time I try to install the USB stick:

    Enhetsdrivrutinerna installerades inte.

Kontakta enhetstillverkaren om du vill ha hjälp med hur enheten installeras.

    Data Traveler 3.0                 x Misslyckades

    In English:

    Drive routine wasn't installed.

Contact the manufacter if you want help how the device should be installed.

    Data Traveler 3.0                 x Failed

I have no problem with other USB devices (for example Kingston Data Traveler 2.0).

On my wife´s computer it is no problem with Data Traveler 3.0. It was there I found the name of the driver.

Method 1 and Method 2 didn't help me. The troubleshooting report told me that there is problem with a driver routine. I was also informed that Windows Update didn't install driver routines automatically.

Yes, I know there is a problem with a driver routine. Is there not a possibility to download it?

I am sorry. None of the links work. Kingston refers to my computer, Komplett Zalman. When I talked to them they suggested that I should re-install Windows 7 in my computer. Perhaps that is a solution because I also have problem with Windows Update (refering to another issue in the category Windows Update. Security Update for Windows 7 - Failures

Kingston refers to the system KOMPLETT GFC-01051, which I don't know what it is or what it have to do with me.

    Their support says:

You have to contact the manufacturer of your system KOMPLETT GFC-01051 not the USB drive manufacturer.

You will need to download the chipset drivers.

I am unable to find your system online therefore cannot provide you with a link.

If you contact them, they should be able to guide you.

Could anyone tell me what it is?

I have a Zalman computer, Windows 7, ServicePack 1, Processor AMD Athlon II X4 630 Processor 2,80 GHz.

    Hello Leif,

Thank you for posting your question on Microsoft community forum.

I would like to know some information about the issue so that we could help you better.

    1. Do you receive any error message or code when you say, "I did not succeed in getting the USB memory Kingston Data Traveler 100 G3 work on one of my computers"?
    2. Does your computer recognize other USB devices?

When we connect any USB device to a computer, Windows automatically finds USB drivers. So, we do not need to find any particular version of USB driver.

I would suggest you try following methods and check if it helps.

    Method 1:

Please run hardware and devices troubleshooter.

    Refer:

Open the hardware and devices troubleshooter

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Open-the-Hardware-and-Devices-troubleshooter

Please also run this Microsoft fixit and check.

    Refer:

Diagnose and fix Windows USB problems automatically

    http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Windows_USB_diagnostics

If it does not work, then use method 2.

    Method 2:

Please use suggestions provided in this Microsoft knowledge based article and check the issue.

    Refer:

Error: “USB Device not recognized” when you try to access a USB external hard drive

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2654149

    I hope this information helps.

Please do let us know if you need any further assistance.

    Thank you
