Downloading and Installing 64-bit Windows 8 (and 8.1)

After I bought and downloaded Windows 8.1, I let it run through the process and downloaded the .iso. After I ran through the installation, it was 32-bit. I need 64-bit.

My hardware supports 64-bit for sure. The problem was that Windows automatically downloaded and installed 32-bit without giving me a choice.

How can I install the 64-bit Windows 8.1 with a .iso image?

Thanks for you input When I view my downloads, there is only one link that downloads the .exe file. So I don't have a choice there, or anywhere, for 64-bit.  I purchased the full-version (instead of the upgrade), verified by viewing the policy before installing.

Maybe Microsoft used to provide a choice. What I've read, so far, is the .exe will download whatever architecture it's being ran on. Since I ran the downloaded on a 32-bit Windows, that's what it downloaded. I'm downloading the .iso on a 64-bit Windows to see if it downloads the correct version.

Yeah it really seems like that exe file that starts the download should offer.  It already asks if you want to install, or download and create an install media/cd/flash drive.  It should just have the option for which one to download.
