How do I uninstall Windows 8.1 Update KB2919355

* Original Title: uninstall K2919355

I am told K2919355 is the source of a major fault on my macine and I should Uninstall it.

When selected from the upgrade list, unlike other upgrades on the list, the uninstall option does not appear.

Does anybody know any other way an upgrade can be uninstalled, or what it is that is stopping me? .

It's a new machine, with W8 preinstalled. After installing 8.1, K2919355 has brought me to a standstill, so it's pretty much in a default state.

Any ideas?

    Hi Pat,

    I can understand your concern.

If you made substantial hardware changes to your PC, such as replacing your hard drive or motherboard, you'll need to activate Windows by phone as it is by design.

To learn how, go to the  product activation article.

    Hope it helps.

Unfortuntely W8 was installed by Asus (?) 3 weeks before I bought the machine and it is a Taichi31, so no DVD. None of the KBs you describe are on the machine.

Starting from scratch is going to be tedious.

Try doing a system restore before it was installed.

If not, its probably best you do a refresh.

Please note, there are several updates to be installed in addition K2919355, did you install them?

    3.  KB2932046

    4.  KB2937592

    5.  KB2938439

    6.  KB2949621

In addition to that, there additional updates that must be installed after installing Windows 8.1 Update 1.
