Any program to Edit Tiff Files

Howdy,

I have a number of tiff files/drwg's that I have to edit on a regular basis & I was wondering if there is program out there, that Microsoft offers that might make the editing a little easier? Currently I am using Microsoft Paint to add, remove, update & replace text, on old, hand-drawn drwg's that have been scanned and saved as tiff images. Paint is not very user friendly, as far as I'm concern, but it does get the job done; just not very efficiently. I am use to using design software that has a more user intuitive interface & effortless navigation. Like I said, Paint does get the job done, but it takes forever. I guess the biggest complain I have w/ Paint would be the fact that it's very cumbersome to navigate around the screen i.e. it doesn't have a pan feature & the zoom is unreliable.

Anyway, I thought I'd ask if anyone knew of a program that is similar to Paint that has a pan feature similar to that of AutoCad (middle mouse button/scroll wheel) or Autodesk Inventor (Shift middle mouse button/scroll wheel).

Thanks for your help.

I don't think you can use MMB in C6 for panning but I'm not sure about earlier versions.

I just click, drag, and release with "flick panning" enabled.

Hey Lee thanks for the response.

I'll try that Advanced Tiff Editor & see if it's a little easier to navigate.

I think for what I'm doing PS would be excessive.

Like I said, Paint does get the job done but it's just so damn aggravating to navigate. Some of the drwg's that I'm working on are D size, 24x36" drwg's, & were scanned on a large format scanner so when you open up the drwg's in paint you only see the top left corner of the drwg. So then you have to zoom out, then grab one of the scroll bars to try & get were you want to go. Actually, Paint would be perfect for what I'm doing if it only had a pa n feature & a better zoom that utilizes the scroll wheel on the mouse.

It's been a few years since I've used PS. Does PS allow you to pan around the screen by pressing the middle mouse button/scroll wheel & can you zoom in & out w/ the scroll wheel on the mouse?
