uploading picture issues

I am having trouble with picture orientation on uploads to internet sites (e.g. craigslist, facebook) from my pictures folder.  I rotate the pictures to proper orientation in my Canon Zoombrowser program (and they appear that way in "my pictures" folder), but when i upload them to another site, the orientation is sideways.  Please help me resolve this issue.

You might check for size restrictions on the sites one dimension might exceed the size requirements.

What is the pixel sizes and the file sizes your uploading.

    Simple solution that works. Go into Window photo viewer. Rotate the photo to left and save. Rotate it to the right and save. Voila. Now CL accepts it correctly. Don't ask me why. I am just an old fart who discovered it by trial and lots of errors.

    I recently had this problem with Craigs List when I was uploading photos that were moved to my computer from my iPhone.

    The pictures clearly were in the right orientation, but on upload they all got rotated counterclockwise.

    What worked for me was to open the file in Preview and then save the file in the correct orientation (which really means not doing anything since they came up that way).  For some reason when resaved with this program the photos uploaded correctly.

    I think for PC users it may help simply to try a few different photo programs and resave the photo after it has been opened up.  If necessary try rotating the photo once then save and then rotate it again to get the proper setting and save.

    Craigslist solution for picture orientation: If your picture downloads to the right, then rotate your picture to the left. The picture will be then be seen upright. Or vice versa.

    The pictures have already been rotated by right-clicking them in My Pictures folder and rotating counterclockwise.  So, they are in the correct orientation in the Windows Photo Viewer, yet they still upload crooked.

    ====================================

    Apparently there is some info in the photo file/s that is

    causing the rotation issue. Just as an experiment...try

    opening one of the photos in Windows Paint and save

    it under a different name...IOW...create a New Version

    of the photo. Now try to upload the New Version and

    see if the rotation is an issue.
