Using Windows 8, is there a keyboard shortcut (or plugin that will allow me to assign a keyboard shortcut) to horizontal scrolling of a window if a horizontal scrollbar is present?

    Hi

Most of the Modern UI Apps will respond to using the left/right Arrow keys.

You can also use Ctrl+Alt+left/right Arrow keys.

    Regards

the CTRL+ALT+LEFT/RIGHT arrow keys is not the keyboard shortcut for horizontal scrolling.  That is the shortcut (including the up and down arrows) to rotate your screen orientation.  Meaning, if you press CTRL+ALT+DOWN, your screen will rotate so the screen would appear upside down (top of windows at the bottom of the screen, taskbar at the top).

This would not even remotely solve your issue.

OK all. Quick update on Windows 7 shortcut. The use of :

    CTRL+WIN+DOWN

    CTRL+WIN+UP

    CTRL+WIN+RIGHT

    CTRL+WIN+LEFT

is amazing.. Quick movements around any open MS window.

Note also that if you just do:

    WIN+DOWN then WIN+DOWN again

    WIN+UP

for people with two or more monitors, well here is more fun stuff if you keep tapping the arrow button.

    WIN+LEFT

    WIN+RIGHTSweet deal Microsoft.!! Thnx!

yeah, I'd really like to know that, too!

With my mouse I just assigned the left and right arrow to my additional scroll wheel. While that works in my browser and while viewing pictures it does not in Windows Explorer ...
