Corrupt Windows Store Files can't be fixed

Hi,

My Windows Store app suddenly started to fail immediately at launch with the following error code: 0x80070002.

I've read numerous posts telling me to check the system date, proxy settings, run an apps diagnostics tool all of which I've done to no avail.

Trying to run WSReset.exe gives me the following error: "The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable".

The culprit appears to be corrupt store files. Running "sfc /scannow" results in the following on the CBS.log:

[SR] Could not reproject corrupted file [ml:520{260},l:46{23}]"??\C:\WINDOWS\WinStore"[l:20{10}]"WSHost.exe"; source file in store is also corrupted

[SR] Could not reproject corrupted file [ml:520{260},l:46{23}]"??\C:\WINDOWS\WinStore"[l:18{9}]"WSSls.dll"; source file in store is also corrupted

[SR] Could not reproject corrupted file [ml:520{260},l:46{23}]"??\C:\WINDOWS\System32"[l:22{11}]"WSReset.exe"; source file in store is also corrupted

So what can I do to fix a corrupt file that sfc can't fix?

Thank you,

Felipe

    Hi,

Try this solution from Sulav_Kumar :

    1. Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc key combination to get into Task Manager. Highlight the activity Store

and Store Broker and click End Task for both of these. This will stop all the activity initiated by Windows Store and its components.

    2. Next, press Win + R to open the RUN and type :

C:\Users<USER NAME>\AppData\Local\Packages\winstore_cw5n1h2txyewy\LocalStateSubstitute C: with your system root drive and<USER NAME>with user account name.

    1. Moving on, in the LocalState folder, you’ll find Cache named folder. Simply rename it CacheOld**.**
    2. Finally, create a new folder named Cache. You can now close restart the Explorer and open Windows Store, it should work fine now, as expected.

The Store App probably has become corrupted.

WinKEY + X or put the mouse in the lower left corner - Command Prompt (Admin) -

type in WSReset.exe - hit enter.
