Original Title: Pink screen

I have a problem with a pink screen and have tried all the options I have found on this site.  I have switched monitors & the problem is still there.  I am using Windows 7.  The problem is:

where the screen should show white - it shows pink & I can't change it.

an example being - at this moment I am typing this on a pink background!!!

It is very hard on the eyes & I am at my wits end.

Help Please!

    Hi,

    Thank you for your update.

It is good to note that the system does not retain any error messages. However, the pink screen issue generally arises in PCs due to the lose VGA cables at the ports. So, I would suggest you to ensure the VGA display cables are plugged in properly on the ports and check if you notice any change in the colour of the screen.

Post back your results for further assistance.

I have replaced the cable & almost all of the pink is gone - I can work with it now.  I will buy a new cable & let you know what happens.

    Hello,

Thank you for the prompt reply.

    Code 10 error description:

The Code 10 error code is generated when Device Manager has insufficient information or the error that is bubbled up by the device drivers is not recognized by Device Manager. Additionally, this error may occur when one of the drivers that the device needs does not start. If many drivers are being used by a particular device, it can be difficult to determine the one that failed.

    Cause of this error:

One of the major cause for this is that network adapter is not currently supporting this feature. You may download the latest driver / update the driver for your network adapter or chipset, and then try to uninstall and reinstall this component.

    Hello,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community forum.

I would appreciate if you can provide us the following information to help us understand the issue better.

    1. What is the make and model of your computer?
    2. Did you make any recent changes on your computer prior to this issue?
    3. Are all the device drivers updated?

As per the issue description you are getting pink screen/background while using your computer. If you are getting pink screen/background then there might be a chance that the display drivers are either outdated or got corrupted.

The issue might also occur if the cables are loosely connected. So, I would request you to unplug and re-plug the HDMI cables and other cables if you are using a Desktop.

Try to remove all external devices connected to your computer except mouse and keyboard and then check the status.

I would suggest you to update the Display drivers either from Windows Update or from device manager or form the manufacturer's website.

You may follow the steps provided in the following article to update the drivers and see if it works.
