Hello,

Today I decided to make a concept of what Internet Explorer 9 would look like running on Windows XP. Hope you like it!

Don't let the "MVP" scare you about end of support. You will be fine using XP on the internet. Just be careful. Don't let any of these XP haters scare you into buying a new PC!

Many business, hospitals, banks, governments, etc are still running Windows Xp and connected to the internet. Their software or devices do not work with the new OS.

The Xray machine  at hospital works only with Windows Xp. The Camera and finger scanner at goverment works only with Windows Xp.

As long as you have a good firewall, basic knowledge, and common sense, you will be fine.

    Elena,

I am very sorry but you cannot install IE9 on Windows XP. I have tried it before myself. Unless there is some hack I don't know about IE9 will not run on Windows XP. Do you need a newer browser? Is this why you want IE9? There are a lot of good (and safe) alternative web browsers out there such as Google Chrome, Firefox, and Opera. The picture I made above is just a concept of how IE9 would look if XP could run it. Sounds like a pretty good printer you have there. Dot matrix printers are very good and reliable. I would not recommend moving off XP, you will just need reliable virus protection to stay safe online.

Don.. Can you possibly tell me, if I  can install I.E. 9 and will it run with XP ? I don't want to change from XP, as my printer (an old Epson), is not compatible with anything but XP. It's a great printer ! Everyone thinks it's a laser printer, because it prints so clearly, but it's the best dot matrix that Epson ever made. Besides that, it takes ribbons ($4.25 a piece) and not expensive cartridges. Thanks ! Elena
