memory: 1.5gb vista / 1.5gb xp

video card: 256mb Nvidia

My specs

processor: Intel(R)-Pentium(R) cpu 2020m 2.40Ghz

Memory: 6gb RAM windows 8.1

I have all required specs but still I get horrendous lag, here Is a video of the lag. (the mouse lags too)

Not a chance. GTA4 will not run on that laptop.

Your computer is severely SEVERELY underpowered for Grand Theft Auto IV. The PC port is a very resource-intensive game , even after the years of updates it got. You need at  mininum quad core processor and a dedicated video card to get good performance out of GTA4, despite what the minimum specs say.

Sorry, but will not have a good experience on your laptop at all. You can try lowering every possible setting you can in Graphics option in-game, but that's about it.

    Hi Winston M,

Thank you for your advice, my computer model is:

    Toshiba satellite pro-c50-a-1Hr

I have tried many options such as disabling windows event log and windows event collector, but these options don't make a difference to the gameplay.

I have referred to Naman R's article but when I right click and go into the properties of the game, there is no compatibility tab. My computer is already running windows updates and has updated drivers and software.

    Thank you for your help

    ,Michael

    Hi,

What is the make and model of the computer?

Make sure that your display adapter is compatible with Windows 8.1 by visiting computer Manufacturer website.

I would suggest you to refer the steps mentioned by 'Naman R replied on October 31, 2013' in the article.

You may try also running the Windows Updates and install all the available updates including the optional driver and software updates and check.

You may also refer to the computer manufacturer website and install Windows 8.1 version of chipset, graphic card and other device drivers and check.
