I have searched for fixes online but have been unable to find anything conclusive that helps. It doesn't seem to be a hardware problem because I have done all typs of scans and none of them have reported anything wrong with either my RAM, hard drives, graphics card etc.

How can I fix this?

Hello Avve,

Thank you for visiting Microsoft Community Forum.

As per the issue description, I understand that you get BSOD error code 0x0000003b SYSTEM-SERVICE-EXCEPTION while turning off your Windows 7 computer.

The dump file logs shows: Caused by Driver: fltmgr.sys

This issue occurs because of an error in the Microsoft IEEE 1394 driver stack, in which the buffer that is allocated to the driver stack does not initialize correctly.

A support hotfix is available for this issue. I would suggest you to download and run the following hotfix and check if that solves the problem.

Stop error code 0x0000003B (SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION) on a computer that is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 when you use some IEEE 1394 devices

Hope this helps. Please let us know the results. Feel free to write us back for any further assistance, we’ll be glad to assist you.
