Each time I turn on my HP PSC 1315 printer a test page automatically prints.  How can I turn this off?  At one time I was able to print or copy without a test page first printing.

I also have Windows 7 ultimate installed with an HP PSC 1310.

it kept printing an alignment page every startup, so I downloaded and installed the HP PSC 1315 All In One Printer Series setup:

    Link:

    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=al-75052-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&os=4063&product=374568&sw\_lang=

This download will work for the 1300 series.

I ran the printer align cartridge utility, printed page, put in scanner bed, and used the "scan" button as the "OK" button and it solved the problem.

Thanks for the "scan" button tip.

    Hello,

If you don't already have it, you should download the User Guide from this link:  http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/manualCategory?product=374584&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&jumpid=reg_r1002_usen_c-001_title_r0006 .

As near as I can determine, the printer test page prints as a function of aligning the print cartridges when they are first installed. If that procedure didn't finish properly, they may be stuck in an endless loop of print test page (alignment). Try removing and then reseating the print cartridges; then print a new single page to align the cartridges and see if that fixes the problem.

Keep me posted and let me know how you fare.

    Regards,

    BearPup

    Hello,

To fully help you, I need the full model number of your printer - is it the 1315v, 1315xi, 1315s, or _____? Also, what version of Windows do you have and what Bit depth are you running?

If you can answer these questions, I'll try to provide additional assistance to you.

    Regards,

    BearPup

Remove the ink cartridges, clean the contact heads gently with a cloth and install the cartridges back and check.

If the issue persists, contact HP support for further assistance.

Hi! Thanks for offering to help.  The printer is an older HP PSC 1310...no added letter or number.  I have  the option to run 32 bit but I use the regular IE 10 version, and my computer runs on Windows 7.  At one time the printer, once turned on, would immediately print or copy the job sent to the printer... but now (seemingly after putting in new ink cartridges) it always prints a test page before the print/copy job.  I've looked into various settings but do not see an option to turn on/off a test page from printing first.  Any ideas?  tks.
