Hi SharonShanafelt2,
1.Did you make any changes to the computer recently?
2.Which security software is installed on the computer?
3.Do you have a wired connection or a wireless connection?
4.Do you have a router connected to the computer?
Method 1.
Using the Network troubleshooter in Windows 7:

Method 2.
Boot the computer in safe mode with networking and check if that helps.
Advanced startup options (including safe mode):

If the issue does not occur in safe mode, then proceed with the clean boot state and check.
Try to set your computer in clean boot state and check if the same issue occurs. Setting your system in clean boot state helps in identifying any
third party applications or startup items are causing the issue.

Note: After clean boot troubleshooting step, follow
Step 7 in the provided link to return your computer to Normal startup mode.
Method 3.
If you have routers connected to the computer, then press and hold the “reset” button on the back of the router for about 30 seconds. Wait for the router to automatically
reboot. Some routers may require you to unplug the power, wait 30 seconds and plug it back in.
