Thanks for the response. I've just managed to fix it by downloading the file Win7Vista_64_151719.zip from Intel's website and installing it.

This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
I'veupgraded my Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop from Vista to Windows 7. Minecraft worked before upgrading it.
I've re-installed Minecraft, but when I try and run it, it refuses to open and I get an error message telling me to update my graphics driver.
However, when I run the Intel Device Driver update, it comes up blank - suggesting there's nothing that needs upgrading. When I open Device Manager\Display Adapters and click on "Mobile Intel 45 Express Chipset Family" (the only entry there) and click on "Update Driver" it also tells me I've got the latest version installed.
The version of the driver I've currently got is: Mobile Intel (R) 45 Express Family Chipset (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM 1.1). I read somewhere else that the WDDM bit might be a problem, but when I tried to download it again from Intel it was the WDDM version.
Any suggestions?

Hi Michael,
You are welcome!
Glad that the issue is fixed.
Hi,
Good to hear from you.
I would suggest that you try running the game in compatibilty mode and check if that works.
Thanks. I've tried the Minecraft Forum - no joy so far.
When I go to the Intel site it tells me that I've got the most up to date driver. I thought about trying to download a slightly older one, but I can't tell which ones aren't the WDDM version.

Hi Michael,
Go here to download the most recent drivers from Intel for your video card. Locate the appropriate drivers and install it.

You may try to tun the game in compatibility mode as well.
