Alienware x51 R2 Windows 8.1

inside PC i made shutdown like i normally do, then after i clicked on shutdown i went away, started to undress so i could go to bed, then i noticed Pc is still running, then i came back to my PC & W8 few min more & then pushed button on PC, well before that i turned monitor back on & i did not see shutdown loading screen, that's why i decided to bush the shutdown button on PC, i mean hold it down until it shuts town, should i be worried & take PC to Repairs? or should i ignore it as long PC Boots & do it if it dose not boot? i booted my PC again right after shutting it down to Post this here

before i turned of monitor i so shutdown loading screen, but is it possible that maintenance did not let PC shutdown? well i don't even know was it running or not, OFC i had updates before last shut down when i booted PC it configured updated & then i made one optional update to, PC was running fine & new i was ready to go to sleep & was shutting down PC & problem started, PC did not shut down, also is it possible that after restart what update wants i should do one more restart? i mean double restart (i mean after PC does restart for update & then i do one restart more, or is it unnecessary)?  for this TXT i added details what happened before i booted PC today, maybe i should say yesterday cause its 12:48AM, the TXT above i started from when i was shutting down PC

to but it simply there was updates & restart like it should, but i wonder should i have done extra restart myself, was that the cause of problem that i did not do it?

new i will shut down again, i hope there wont be problems again

EDIT:

just in case i try to explain the update part step by step:

in a morning i turned PC on it took longer cause night before i made update & so it needed configure new updates, then when i so loading screen (welcome screen) after that i so lagging, loading circle stopped for a moment, then when it finished & win opened i opened win-update to see is there any optional update & there was & i did it (but before that i did my graphics update), then PC made new restart & again loading in welcome screen lagged once & then i got to win & win was running fine, but when i got ready to go to sleep then i got shutdown issue, i mentioned the updates just in case, maybe its connected to updates

updates i had

event viewer shows even errors that are not in Error report history, i guess this are insignificant if they are not in history

    i discovered something from history

does this mean windows update found update & failed? or its not win update, its service update?

i went to win update & clicked on check for updates & nothing found, if it was win update & failed then doing it manually should find something, or was it just some App update? App update uses same host, win update mite not run, but if App gets update it goes under windows update, windows update searches automatically right on startup with little delay, usually i turn on PC after 10am, 10-11, this issue was 14:05, so i guess it was a APP update

just curious about it, is it insignificant & not Windows Update (some APP update) or does it mean i have issue with Windows Update?

my latest windows update is security update KB3018943

    EDIT:

today my PC crashed on startup i had to ctr+alt+del & restart PC, after restart i looked error report history, it said, windows explorer was not responding & was closed, also when it crashed i opened taskmanager, half of the processes were not running, i guess the crash prevented them from start running, i guess things like this are normal with computers?

    Hello,

    Thanks for your reply

The purpose of event viewer logs is to report your computer performance, it keeps on creating logs for every activity performed on your computer. If you see some insignificant logs in event viewer that doesn’t mean there is any issue with the computer.

You are not required to clear the error report history, the old reports are automatically removed from the computer after a certain period of time and new logs are created.

If your computer is running fine and does not report any issue, I would suggest you to do not make unnecessary changes to the computer.

Do let us know if you need further assistance with Windows, we’ll be glad to assist you.

    Thank you

in the morning after 10am i did update & then i used PC hole day & then 12am i shutdown PC but it did not shut down, so configuring was complete

BDW my old PC dose that to some times, no shutdown unless i push the button on PC, this one what i'm using new did it once so far, can shutdown process crash to? when it comes to event logs, not sure can i find the right stuff from the list (i have opened event log once before), unless its possible to save the hole event log & attach it to here, to my post

but basically there is meany possibility's off what mite have caused this?

    like shutdown process crash

Hard drive reading error (what mite cause shutdown crash), i mean hardware slight mistake, the thing what is reading (needle or how it is called) info made a slight wrong move or was bit slow

some process running that wants to complete its work, & that caused shutdown crash (& i don't mean any scan nor defragment)

this are the ones i know of with my LVL of knowledge about PC, but are this possible reasons?

if i clear error report history they still remain in event logs? just curious

is it normal if it happens sometimes?

so i should not worry about it?

    Hello,

    Thanks for your reply,

As per description, it seems that the shutdown issue happened only once. There could be many reasons for that like there is a possibility that some updates might not completed configuring and they restarted the computer or there might be some other application running in the back ground might restarted the computer.

If the shutdown issue happened just for once and lagging is just for one or two seconds, I would say that there is no issue with your computer.

However, you can provide us the event viewer information where we will come to know the exact cause of the shutdown.

Provide us the event logs of the time when you faced this issue.

To provide event logs, please follow the steps mention below.

    1. Press Windows + C
    2. In search window, type control panel.
    3. Then click on system & security.
    4. Click administrative tools and then click on event viewer.

Important: If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

Note: Event logs are special files that record significant events on your computer, such as when a user logs on to the computer or when a program encounters an error. Whenever these types of events occur, Windows records the event in an event log that you can read by using Event Viewer.

Please do let us know if you need further assistance with Windows, we’ll be glad to assist you.

    Thank you.
