HP Probook 450 G1 HDMI output detecting TV but not sending signal

I bought this laptop in August and it's never been able to output with an HDMI cable. It's not the cable, as I've tried several cables on my own laptop and none of them have worked although they worked on other laptops. I'm thinking it's a hardware issue because I've updated all drivers I thought would fix the problem and still no luck :/

I've put a screenshot below. You can see that it sees my TV (Emerson brand) but the TV receives no signal. I tried switching through all the display options and when I had it on extend, for a brief moment, my TV flashed a grainy, pixely magenta display and then turned black again. I've tried pushing (but not forcing) the HDMI in further to see if there's some sort of issue with HDMI input, maybe it's too inset or something, again, nothing.

My operating system is Windows 7 Professional 64-bit.

Any help or suggestions are appreciated! Thanks!

    Hi Lavelli,

I understand you have issues connecting to the t.v through HDMI cable. I will be glad to assist you with the issue. I understand the difficulty when things don’t work the way it should.

    Method 1:

I would suggest you to disconnect the HDMI cable and try to connect it buy following these steps.

    1. Turn off your computer and position it within easy reach of your TV. Disconnect the monitor, but leave the mouse and keyboard connected.
    2. Connect the appropriate video cable from your computer's output to your TV.
    3. Turn on your TV and set it to the input that matches the output on your computer. You might need to refer to the user's guide included with your TV for instructions on how to do this.
    4. Turn on your computer.

    5. You should see Windows displayed on your TV. If the screen looks stretched, or part of the screen seems cut off, you probably need to adjust the screen resolution in Windows.

    1. If you can't see Windows on your TV, you might need to reconnect the computer to your monitor and adjust the screen resolution before you connect to your TV.

To adjust screen resolution follow this steps:

    1. Right click on the screen and select Screen Resolution.
    2. Check if the resolution is set to 1024x768.
    3. If it is not, then set it to 1024x768

    Method 2:

I suggest you to install the latest version of display drivers from the following website and check:
