How to see remaining battery life in hours or percent?

All I see is a battery icon in windows 8 Rt metro interface but it's not easy to estimate remaining battery life with a small icon like that. Every other tablets tell you how many hours are left or how many percent is left. I have been searching for 2 days for a setting option and find nothing. This OS is far from intuitive and I wonder if I am not better to return the tablet, thing like that should be easy to set.

Its been s while now n why Microsoft do not wont to fix this? What  a lazy bunch of loosers !!

MS never admitted this is actually a bug instead of a "by design", so as long they dont admit, they wont of course fix it.

Microsoft will not go back and change the functionality of a "finished" version of Windows (one that's boxed up and in retail stores).  It's done, they are working on whatever comes next.

Just like Ford won't go back and say "oh yeah, the 2013 Mustang really should have had more cupholders, let's send one to every owner".  The 2013 Mustang is done being designed.

If you want to incluence what comes next (like a battery indicator change in Windows 10), you can join the Windows 10 Insiders and your feedback is used and responded to quickly across several outlets.

Isn't there somekind of a mod to change the icon to also show percentage?

I think it's pretty easy after you find the right files.

This thing really bugs me as well, maybe Microsoft will fix this in Windows Blue which going out in a few days from now.

I agree 100% with you guys.. It's so simple but would make things so much nicer having a better battery indicator. I looked all through the app store and nothing. I do like windows 8 however, some things more than others. I like the charm menu, the live tiles are cool, touch screen is a must however. Also I want everything to run off metro? I don't see the point of having to switch to desktop EVER.
