Google Hangout for Windows Phone.

Hello Microsoft,

Recently I wrote to Google to provide Hangout app for Windows Phone. In reply they said that they are willing to provide Google Apps if device manufacturer are ready to collaborate with them in development process. Following text is copy of two paragraphs of their reply.

Unfortunately, when developing an app for a third party device we need the collaboration of the manufacturer.

Like in the case of Mac we worked side by side, also with Ubuntu and other Debian based Linux distributions.

Together we achieved the apps their users enjoy now, as well once the app is developed it needs to follow

the manufacturer's store approval like any other app developed for them. As you can see by visiting

https://support.google.com/plus/answer/1216376?hl=en.

In the case of Microsoft we are more than willing to develop the app, we would love to support that market

share which is vast increase potential customers to use their mobile devices.

With Microsoft we've achieved the use of hangouts through their Desktop environments so far. But, we need

you as their mobile customer to present the need of the use of Google Apps in their mobile phone's so they

can support the development of mobile apps on their devices. We want to serve you in whatever device you

choose to have, but this can only be accomplished through the device users to convince the device

manufacturer to collaborate to develop an app from us.

I would love to see Google apps on my windows phones. Could you please communicate with Google, to bring Hangout and other apps to Windows Phone.

what a load of cow poo.

they don't need any help. its an app store. you make an app and submit it like everyone else.

the truth is: google doesn't want to support ANY windows app store. they will not make any apps for it because they don't want to. Microsoft even made a youtube app for windows phone - guess what, google actively fought against it until it was removed.

the only thing you should read from that letter is "hello, we'd like to blame someone else and make ourselves look like a victim while hiding the fact that we're the ones that are actively not doing anything to help you".

Yes I am aware what Google did when Microsoft tried to build YouTube app. I need Microsoft's official reply to this thread so that I can put response back to Google.

I agree wholeheartedly that we need an official reply from Microsoft. From what I have heard, neither company has been particularly cooperative with the other.

I have loved my windows phone for the 6 months or so that I have had it. When I got it I was under the impression that third party apps gave access to at least the chat features of Hangouts. It became apparent after I had gotten it that Google had cut off those 3rd party apps. I'm not sure if this issue is going to break the deal for Windows Phone or for using Google apps, but one of the two has to go if we don't get some sort of movement regarding access to hangouts on the Windows Phone by my next upgrade.

That's true, I use Windows Mobile since 710 and now I use 640Xl and I have never had any problems, besides I like because there are almost no ads, unfortunately the competition has not wanted to collaborate because they realized that Windows is a system with a lot of power , I will continue to use it until I no longer see them in this world.

You will not get an official reply from MS on this, in this forum. MS has a PR department that supplies official comments/responses, and various divisions/products have official blogs. They may indeed have an official position on this, but it will not be initially exposed here. Not the appropriate venue. Just sayin'
