I'm not sure if you can answer this question but I'm going to ask in case. I own an Asus laptop which runs on windows 7. I noticced theres a webcam above the screen but I cant find a way to activate it so i can upload and send pictures. I searched for at least a few hours which made me curious to if the Asus laptop can even take pictures or if the camera is only for Videochats?

To use the web cam you have 2 options.

option 1

*Go to www.picanom.com

*Click allow if a box pops up

*Click snap

*Review the pictures you took and click save or print in the upper left corner of the picture.

*After you click save click download.  It will appear next to the print button.

Option 2

You have to have software to use the webcam.  I searched in google and foundhttp://www.yawcam.com/download.php to be the best free software.

I also found this one if you dont want to install a program.  You just download this, but you do not have to install it.  It would have been my #1 choice but it only displayed half of my webcam, like somthing was covering the other half.  It took good pictures, but with a built in cam it would suck because you actualy have to be sitting to the side to be centered.  You might try it on you PC it might run differnt.  I have a Mac Book Pro with boot camp installed running windows 7.  That may be why it didnt work for me http://www.softpedia.com/get/Internet/WebCam/Rebellious-Productions-CamSnap.shtml

I don't know if anyone is around to reply to this, but I can't get my webcam to work at all. I've got the lifeframe shortcut on my desktop but every time I click on it I just get a message saying "This model does not support LifeFrame3!"

I have no idea what to do about that. My laptop clearly has a built-in webcam, which can be activated just fine for the FaceLogOn thing they're pushing at me, but other than that I just can't get it to do anything at all. Does anyone have advice?

Your webcam should be listed in your devices and printers, click the start button and select that section.

Funny thing my webcam has a shortcut that is on the left side of my screen,

If you point your cruiser up and around the edges of your screen you might find yours, it pops up on start up and if I cruise by it scrolling around by accident, but it should take still and photos and videos as well without any additional software.
