WPDNSE folder in TEMP cannot be deleted

I connected my cell phone to my computer to load the fotographs to a folder on the computer and thereafter deleted all of them on the cell phone. Now I cannot delete the folder WPDNSE from the folder C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Temp. It is the folder inside WPDNSE that I cannot delete, hence WPDNSE; this folder has zero bytes in it;  when I click "delete" on it  the message is displayed: "cannot delete (folder name): cannot find the specified folder". I searched for the folder in the whole computer, it doesn't exist anywhere . I would very much appreciate any  help  to resolve this issue.

    Hi,

The folder is created by Windows Media Player 11 and should left alone. Note that it

is created in a temporary area so WMP will manage it.

    Hope this helps.

I have found WPDNSE to be used by Some sort of virus which can inject Web pages into chrome.

I receive Internet pages advertising **** sights etc when this folder is not deleted immediately on start up. The folder is insert into temp folder.

Using the slider of clicking on non links sometimes inserts a web page into chrome or firefox with WPDNSE in the temp folder.

Now I start up Windows and immediately delete WPDNSE and receive no unwanted intrusions in Chrome or Firefox

Can someone explain why Windows Media Player is creating this temp file when I'm using my Internet browser and NOT using WMP?

And also, what does the file do? If it''s tracking my browsing or the data I input, how does that relate to WMP functionality? Because if it IS tracking me in any way, there really is no valid reason for it to exist.

12/24/14 But..I've never used ie11; I'm sticking with 10..yet I also am having to see (this file) as a mysterious on-hanger...after my computer disk-clean. No..I'm not losing sleep (over it) but it irks me, that it's been given that much autonomy!
