Hi
I have Sony laptop (2008 model). It does not have a touch screen. I have upgraded the OS to Windows 8 (64-bit). Through a Sony docking station, I have connected a ACER touch screen monitor. However I am not able to activate the touch screen facility. Please help.
Thanks

Hi
I have an Asus laptop with Win 8.1 and I want to buy an external touch monitor, since the laptop one is to small.
The questions is: will win 8 touch futures still work, with the external touch monitor, connected to my laptop through HDMI cable?
Thanks
You've got to plug in the USB cable between the monitor and the laptop.
Hi Shyam,
It would be great if you can provide me with additional information regarding this issue. Please do answer to these questions for a better understanding of this issue.
1. What is the model of the Acer touch screen monitor that you have connected with your Windows 8 computer? Is it compatible with Windows 8?
2. Did you install all the latest Windows 8 drivers for this monitor?
3. What are the troubleshooting steps that you have tried to activate the touch screen facility on this monitor?
4. Is the Touch Screen working properly if it is directly connected to another computer rather than to a docking station?
I can provide you the general steps to activate the touch screen facility of a monitor. Please follow these instructions for the same and let’s know the result.
a) Press “Windows Logo” + “X” keys on the keyboard and select “Control Panel” from that list.
b) In the “Control Panel” window, click on “Hardware and Sound” and then select “Pen and Touch”.
c) In the dialogue box that opens, select the “Touch” tab.
d) Click on the checkbox “Use your finger as input device” to select it, if it was already unchecked.
e) Click “OK” to confirm and close the dialogue box.
Hope this is helpful. If the issue persists, you may also try updating the touch screen drivers of the computer and let’s know the result.
Thank you for the email.
The Acer Monitor Model is T232HL. Its says its windows 8 Compatible.
I did not install any drivers for this monitor because the OS recognized the monitor and says that the driver software is up to date.
I couldn’t do much troubleshooting because; I could not see the “Pen and Touch” option in my Control Panel.
I did not connect my monitor directly to the laptop. – Should I try that, what cable should I be using to connect ? Right now, I have connected the monitor to the docking station through the standard monitor cable (VGA).
Since I installed windows 8 in a laptop that does not have touch capabilities, would the pen and touch option not be available ? How can I enable this option ?
The monitor has HDMI, DVI IN, VGA IN (this is what I am using currently to connect) and USB 3.0. My docking station has the VGA and DVI-D and USB 2.0.
Do let me know if you require any other information from me.
Thanks
