Try Xbox support:
How should I boost my wireless performance for my Xbox One
I have my Xbox one console three rooms (approx. 60 feet) away from my router. Right now moving the Xbox is not an option and due to the great distance between the console and its access point it receives abysmal internet connection (latency is up to 483 ms and upload speed is at most 4 mbps). This has resulted in a lot of in game lag when playing online multiplayer games. Does anyone have any ideas how I could fix this issue without moving the Xbox or router, as those options are not currently viable?

2016-09-23T02:07:13+00:00 Run a CAT5 cable ... simple. Nobody remembers that's the way we did it in the "old days". Run a cable form the ethernet port of your router to the ethernet port of your xBox one. They should both be gigabit ports so your connection will be the fastest it will ever be. If your router is freakin' old and only 10/100 not 10/100/1000 then get a new one. Yeah, you will have to drill holes through walls or maybe up through the ceiling and then down to the room with the xbox, but you can always hide the cable if you know how to do it.
If you do this you will always have a 1000 mbps connection ... ALWAYS ; )
P.S. I almost forgot about power line adapters. NO DRILLING REQUIRED !!! They plug into your wall outlet near whichever device you want to run a CAT5 cable to and they are really fast. The current technology is much improved over the first ones available. They are now available in up to 1200 mbps versions.

Absolutely the way to go! I have CAT 6e (overkill for a home network, of course, but the cable cost was basically the same as 5e) cable runs to each of my bedrooms and also to the living areas. In some of the rooms I have a 4-port GB switch. I have my streaming devices, 2 NAS', desktops, gaming consoles connected via CAT 5e Ethernet cables to the 4-port switches ; I only use wireless for phones, tablets, Nest thermostats, or any devices that can only use a wireless connection. I have 2 24-port switches (1 HP & 1 Cisco) located on each story of my house. One 24-port switch is on the first floor and the second one is located on the 2nd floor. I have cabled each of the rooms on the given floor accordingly back to the respective 24-port switch. Ultimately the 2 switches connect to the router Ethernet ports. Yes, drilling, climbing up in the rafters, etc. is part of it, but it's worth it!

2014-01-08T09:50:33+00:00 Hi Halo,
A weak wireless signal can cause poor Xbox LIVE performance. Check your wireless signal strength. Here’s how:
- Press the Guide button on your controller, go to Settings, and select System Settings.
- Select Network Settings.
- Select your wireless network name if you are prompted to do so.
- Select Test Xbox LIVE Connection.
- Do one of the following:
- If your wireless signal strength is one or two bars, try improving your signal strength using the tips below.
How to improve your wireless signal
- Move your router or gateway off the floor and away from walls and metal objects (such as metal file cabinets).
- Move your Xbox console off the floor and away from walls and metal objects. Remove your console from an enclosed entertainment center, bookshelf, or TV stand.
- Minimize obstructions along a straight-line path between your console and your wireless router or gateway. Possible obstructions include TVs, cabinets, appliances, other electronics, and furniture.
- Shorten the distance between your console and your wireless router or gateway. Ideally, your network hardware should be near the center of your home.
- Change the position of the antenna on your Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter (external adapter only).
- Turn off wireless devices. If your router uses the 2.4 GHz band, try turning off wireless devices, such as 2.4 GHz cordless telephones, Bluetooth devices, and baby monitors. If you are using a wireless headset with a base station such as the Turtle Beach wireless headset, try moving the transmitter away from your Xbox 360 console, or temporarily turn it off to see if your wireless network signal improves.
- Try changing your wireless channel. Wireless routers and gateways can broadcast on different channels, and one channel might be clearer than another. For example, try channels 1 or 11. See your hardware documentation for help with changing wireless channels.
- Add a wireless repeater to extend your wireless network range. You can boost your signal strength by placing a wireless repeater halfway between your router or gateway and your console.
- Add an Xbox 360 Wireless N Networking Adapter. If your wireless router is not near the console, an Xbox 360 Wireless N Networking Adapter might improve the signal strength. When you connect a wireless networking adapter to an Xbox 360 S console, the console will automatically use the wireless adapter instead of the internal Wi-Fi.
- Switch wireless signal bands. If you have a dual-band router and an external wireless adapter, try switching the router to a wireless protocol that transmits on the 5 GHz band (wireless protocol A or N). Note that the Xbox 360 S console uses the 2.5 GHz band only. Also, higher-frequency wireless signals have a shorter range. See your hardware documentation for help with changing the wireless protocol.
Hope the information provided is helpful.

2015-02-26T03:29:31+00:00 I use Xbox one in my big house. The console is also away from my router and the wireless signal strength was bad. To boost the wireless performance, I found the Wireless Booster WiFi Range Extenders for Xbox One and PS4 and bought the NETGEAR Powerline as WiFi Range Extenders. This issue is fixed and everything works well.
