Original title: BSOD screen error

I tried installing Xubuntu 12.04 in my laptop that already had a Windows 7 installed. I chose the option of "Something else" from the install options and proceeded to the partition-selection screen. I selected the hard-drive partition, allocated 20GB memory for Xubuntu and proceeded with the installation only to get an error message and an eventual black screen. When I try restarting the system using Windows,a BSOD error is being prompted every time I try to boot it. The BSOD screen error code is as follows:

STOP 0x0000007B (0xFFFFF880009A97E8 0xFFFFFFFFC0000034 0x0000000000 0x0000000000).

After having done a bit of research,it all melts down to the Windows not being able to access the bootable section. How could have the failed Xubuntu installation affected my hard-drive? Any helpful suggestions will be much appreciated.

****We do need the actual log files (called a DMP files) as they contain the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.

Please follow our instructions for finding and uploading the files we need to help you fix your computer. They can be found here

If you have any questions about the procedure please ask

If you are using Blue screen view, who crashed, or a similar application, don't.  They are wrong at least as often as they are correct
