My files save to OneDrive but uses up my laptop hard drive's memory

I'm using my new HP Stream 14 which barely has any memory storage on it's hard drive, so I'm trying to copy all of my files on to OneDrive from my external hard drive.

When I come to copy my files (i.e. I have 89GB of music) over onto OneDrive it uses up what little memory I have on my laptop. I have no idea what I'm doing!

I thought I could upload all my files to OneDrive and use them as normal without it taking up space on my laptop's hard drive?

HELP! :')

Emily

It uses up space not memory.  It is a 2 way sync and that means whatever you put on onedrive you also put on your local drive.  When you remove something from either it removes it from the other.

If you want 89 gigs of music on one drive it will also take 89 gigs of your HD>

Then If onedrive saves to my local hard drive what exactly is the point of onedrive?

seems onedrive is only for business and not for the average users to save hard drive space on their computers.

more I use Win 10 the more I HATE IT.

Well that makes no sense what-so-ever.  The point of the OneDrive was that the material be saved in 'the cloud' and not on your computer's hard drive; now it turns out that Onedrive folders also appear on the computer's hard drive.  That means, the computer's hard drive will be filled up in no time, making the computer absolutely useless!

There should be a way to use an installed Flash Drive (SDHC or micro SDHC) for the Local Folder.  I did this for Google Drive.

Oh, I thought OneDrive was like an additional hard drive?

Because the HP Stream 14 only has 22.9GB of space on the Local Disc (C:)

So where am I going to put all my files?
