Hi, this may be old, but it applies for JBL Charge 2 as well. It does not work via Bluetooth. Search the compatibility page in JBL, it is only for phones and stuff. However, it has a very handy 3.5mm audio jack, which you can connect to your PC like any other speaker. For Android/iOS devices, it works marvelously.

    Regards,

    Mario

    Hello Roger,

Thank you for choosing Microsoft Forum.

    1. What were recent changes made on the computer prior to issue?
    2. Are you able to connect to other Bluetooth devices to laptop?

I would suggest you to install drivers by installing windows updates.

If the issue still persists, you may check for an updated driver from the manufacturer and install the latest version. Refer to the below mentioned link for guidance –

I pieced this together with lots of searching

The problem was when trying to pair it with my laptop running Windows 7. Windows immediately recognized it as "JBL" and then looked for the device drivers online. This is where the problem started. The drivers could not be found online. The device was listed under "Devices and Printers" but there was no way to actually connect the speakers. A look at the manual that came with the JBL advised referring to JBL website's FAQs for pairing the device with Windows 7 & 8. I did not find anything in the website's FAQ that addressed the issue (but then that may be just me). A google search did not turn up anything helpful either. To cut a long story short, I managed to find info on how to connect the JBL to my laptop running Windows 7. Here is how I did it..... Go thru the the pairing in windows let it search for drivers and fail then proceed

Assuming now that you have already connected/paired the JBL Charge or Flip to the laptop and shows in devices but it refuses to work yet. Click on the Start button (button with Windows logo at bottom left). Then click on "Devices and Printers". You will see the Flip 3 listed as one of the devices. Right click on the "Flip 3" icon and select "Properties". In the window that opens click on the "Services" tab. There will be about 7 options listed and by default, the last option "Unknown Service" will be the only one selected. Un-select it (by clicking on it) and select the "Audio Sink" option. If you want to be able to forward tracks using the buttons on the device then select the "Remote Control" and "Remotely Controllable Device" options. Click the "Apply" option.

Now go to the Flip 3 icon under "Devices and Printers". Double click the icon. A window will open with the option to "Connect" the device. Click on the "Connect" button. Enjoy!!!

(PS: You may have to restart Windows for the changes to take effect)

Yes I have (2) wireless printers that work just fine.

I have contacted JBL and they say there are no drivers for the Bluetooth JBL charge.

My computer cannot find the JBL charge even when it is in pair mode.

I can plug it into the speaker jack and it works but no bluetooth.

JBL works fine with my Cell phone, I have a Gateway NV57H57u windows 7 PC.

I have changed and changed Bluetooth configs... I don't get it.

    Thanks for helping.

The problem is not supported by the drivers. Typical Wi-Fi network cards manufacturer intel.

    SOLUTION.

Install the program BlueSoleil on the PC. Reboot. In the system tray turn on bluetooth.Bluetooth Explorer environment. Click search. Included JBL speaker. Hold the bluetooth button that was found. Do on PC mate (matching) and click on the JBL volume down to confirm. On the PC in the system tray bluetooth Explorer environment select the column - click search function, if empty. After should appear headphones that we include. Then go to PC settings - Sound and set the JBL speakers as the default.
