Getting ghost screen or ghost touch issue with ASUS Vivo tablet

I have an Asus vivo tab that runs windows 8.1 and for the almost 2 years that I have had it it has been great. However in the past few months a problem started occurring which many vivo tab users have had. It is known as the "ghost screen/ghost touch" problem because the tablet will randomly begin acting as if one was tapping it in various places after the screen is turned on while it is asleep. It registers multiple taps which makes it hard to type and sometimes it moves programs all around. The only way I can fix it is to just wait for it to resolve the problem itself or restart the tablet. Sometimes I have to restart it manually because the side gestures do not work. Then I have a second problem that just happened after it said that my memory was full ( I had around 27 GB), HOWEVER, my media files and apps did not even take up half this space so I do not know how the rest got filled up. And the worst part was when I let the tablet sleep for a few minutes because when I turned it back on it had deleted almost all of the apps I had downloaded. To make matters worse, I could not access the settings nor any existing applications. Every time I clicked on the app or settings it began to show the opening screen and quickly closed it, no matter how many times I tapped it. I have enjoyed this product for a long time and have used it with much care and properness but despite this it has become quite faulty. I am disappointed that such a great product has turned into something of lower quality and with no apparent reason. Please is there a way to fix it? Should I send it to Asus to get it fixed or is there no way to fix it anymore?

    Hi Kevin,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

    1. Did you make any changes prior to this issue?

This issue could be caused due to an issue with the touch driver or due to a hardware issue with the touch screen. Many Asus vivo tab users have reported the same issue. So, it appears to be an issue with the hardware. When I checked the Asus website, they have suggested the users who are facing this abnormal touch problem to contact the local ASUS service center and have advised not to use the built-in Windows calibration function. So, in this case, I suggest you to contact the manufacturer support as this seems to be a hardware issue. You can also refer to this article:
