Can I use my computer while creating backup with Win 7 Backup and Restore

I have spent at least an hour on a fruitless search for the answer to this question. It's not mentioned in the program itself, so maybe it's not an issue, but will Win7 successfully create a backup if I am also using the computer while it's doing so. This is my initial backup. Do I need to let the computer sit undisturbed while it creates this backup (it seems awfully slow), or is it ok for me to use the computer while the initial backup is being created?

    Hello Arlis,

Thank you for posting your question on Microsoft community.

I appreciate you for providing details about your query.

It is always better to keep Windows backup undisturbed.

However, if you want to use your computer while creating backup, you may use it for running those processes which may take lesser memory and take lesser processing time.

Those processes may include typing a document, playing music and so on.
