Hey I was experience this problem with my ASUS and actually came to this forum looking trying to figure out how to solve it. It turned out that it was because the hard drive wasn't connected. I had actually taken it out while trying to fix a different problem and had just forgetten to put it back in (air head moment I know).

I don't know why your computer isn't working but to see if this may be your problem go to the "Advanced" tab and select the "SATA Configuration" option. Once your here, look at your Serial Ports. One of them should be your hard drive while the other your CDROM. For me, the one that was supposed to be the hard drive was not there. The pic below shows what my screen looked like. As you can see there's nothing for the first port where my hard drive should be.

This is is actually how I figured out what was wrong instead of seeing the hard drive  on the other side of the table lol

I don't know if this is your problem but I'd say it's worth checking out and if you don't seeing anything for that first port, maybe this is your issue as well. And assuming you didn't take out your hard drive and forget to put it back in, it may have came loose or is having a connection issue of some kind. I hope this helps.

My ASUS F55A has exactly the same problem - on Aptio Setup Utility -> Advanced -> SATA Mode Selection, I get Port 0 Empty Empty Empty and Port 2 ATAPI CDROM. I've opened the carcass, removed HDD and then reinserted it, making sure that it was plugged the right way. Restarting the computer, I kept getting Aptio screen, and Port 0 is still empty. What should I do?

    Hi Ryan,

For a better understanding of the issue, I would need more information from your end.

    1. When exactly you get this setup utility? Is it after booting to desktop or on startup?
    2. Did you make any recent software or hardware changes on the computer prior to this issue?

I would suggest you to boot the computer to Safe Mode and check if the issue occurs or not. If not, I would suggest you to set the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

Step 1: ****I would suggest you to refer the article and check if it helps.

Windows Startup Settings (including safe mode)

    Step 2:

If the issue do not occur in Safe Mode perform a clean boot and check. Setting the system in a clean boot state will help to identify if any third party applications or startup items are causing the issue.

How to perform a clean boot in Windows

Note: After clean boot troubleshooting steps, refer to the section "How to reset the computer to start as usual after troubleshooting with clean boot" in the provided link to return your computer to Normal startup mode.

Hope this information helps. Reply to the post with updated status of the issue to assist you further.
