got a new acer laptop with win 8.1 - seems to have a large number of services running.

can't tell which are needed and which are just bloat-ware.

any idea which ones i can disable?

    Dear MS guy,

    Thank You for posting.  

    May I ask a few questions?

    a) If this forum is on Microsoft's site, why is it referred to as "Third Party"?

    b) I checked it out and discovered it is intended for Windows XP OS.  

    I upgraded all of my machines (my network) to Windows 10.  After installation, I had written some Windows Command Script to have things the way I like them.

    It would be logical to have a Windows 10 Services forum.  I also belong to Tech Net (love it & great resource) :)

    How can we start a forum for Windows 10 users regarding issues with services.  I also would like to learn more about the new services installed with Windows 10 along with details regarding their interactions /applications with various aspects of the operating system (Windows 10).   

    Please let me know.  I read a lot, but have not gotten involved yet.

    There is a site that can tell you about all the possibilities called blackviper.com  He gives 3-4 various configurations including safe, gaming, and extreme and what each service is & does
