Hi,

How do you close the search result window? When I push alt+tab I don't want to see all these things that I have visited: search results, food+drink, help+tips

I have a windows 8 laptop, a lenovo yoga 2 pro.

Thanks,

There are two ways to close the Metro style apps:

If you're using a keyboard/mouse, move your cursor to the top of the screen and a title bar will appear. Press the X button.

If you're using a touch screen, place your finger just on top the top of the screen, and drag all the way down past the bottom of the screen. The app will drag with your finger and close.

I saw that, but it is not an app I'm trying to close. It is the search results. I push the windows key and then I type to search. But I don't know how to close that window.

    thanks,

It's not a surface pro, it's a lenovo ... forgot the name of this computer already. It folds over, is pretty cool. Not detachable (I heard that they break) anyway, there is no close button on these apps, as far as I can tell.

    Hi Lily,

It’s still a good idea to close desktop apps when you're done using them, particularly before shutting down your Surface. Tap or click the Close button in the upper right corner of the app.

I got an automated message asking if this is resolved, and it is not. I don't think I have used search recently but I would like to know how to close windows when ctrl + q doesn't seem to work.
