    Hi Abayon,

Thank you for posting on Microsoft Community.

I apologize for the inconvenience. I would suggest you to search with the hardware ID of the device in Manufacturers website and check if you can find drivers.

I would suggest you to perform the below methods and check if it helps you.

Method 1: Install all available Windows Updates, including Optional Updates; this might fix the issue. Refer to the following steps.

    1. Press Windows key + X. Select Control Panel.
    2. Click on Windows Update.
    3. Click Check for Updates. After the scan is complete, click Review optional updates.
    4. Click the check box next to the updates, then click Install updates.
    5. If prompted, review the license agreement, then click I Accept.
    6. Follow the onscreen instructions to download and install the updates.
    7. If prompted, reboot your computer.

Method 2: As Windows 8 drivers are not available, I would suggest you to install Windows 7 drivers in compatibility mode and check if it helps.

Download the latest drivers from the Manufacturer’s website and save it on to the Desktop.

    Hi,

    1. What is the exact and complete error message you get?
    2. Was it working fine earlier?

As I see there was no information about the compatibility of Linksys PCI adapter wmp54g. I would suggest you to contact Linksys and check if there are any updated drivers available. If there are no drivers available, then I would suggest you to install in compatibility mode.

Make older programs compatible with this version of Windows

Do get back and let us know the status of the issue, I will be glad to help you further. We, at Microsoft strive towards excellence.
