Red Alert 2 Game doesn't run on windows 8

Recently I've installed Windows 8 pro with media center on my PC, now I can't play "Red Alert 2 Youries Revenge" on my pc. when I want run game an error occurred like : "***FATAL*** String manager failed to iniatialize properly". it was windows 7 previously, and I played this game smoothly. How can I resolve this error, play this game again. Please help!!!!!

I had purchased the Command and Conquer disc "The first decade" with the titles Command and Conquer...(CNC)/CNC; The covert operations. CNC; Red alert/Red alert..The aftermath/Red alert...Counterstrike. CNC; Tiberium sun/Firestorm. CNC; Renegade. CNC; Red alert2/Red alert...Yuri's revenge. CNC; Generals/Generals...Zero hour. That is twelve games on this one disc. I was able to run CNC/CNC; The covert operations, and was able to run CNC; Renegade (until it froze). The rest of the disc is basically garbage. This is **** to tell someone who spent good hard earned money buying these games. I had to download from Ares.com my copy of CNC; Generals. Luckily, it works. I am in the process of downloading CNC; Generals...Zero hour and CNC4; Tiberium twilight. Hopefully, these titles will work. I'm not a big fan of having to pay as you play. I believe that if you pay for a game...it s yours. I can see why you guys decided to team up with XBox. You rub their backs and they grease your palms. But you really left nothing for us that enjoy playing these bought and payed for games like Command and Conquer. My question is...Is Windows and the "fine people" on the Windows 8 team going to include a Virtual windows XP thingy that you can get in Windows 7 for the Windows 8 OS? I just went there and it says my system is incompatible. Sure is a slap in the face to all them fine people that spent hours developing these games to run on you OS's...Only to have you change them so they don't work anymore. I don't think they make them anymore. To the lady that..."Upgraded??" from Windows 7 to 8. I think it was a mistake. I'm sorry. I hate this Windows 8 thing. I want my XP Pro back.

I would suggest you to contact the manufacture for the game to check the compatibility of the game with Windows 8. They should be able to help you.

I've downloaded this game as portable mode, just extract and run. so there is no installation is needed. as i guess it says about the file system version. please help.

You may try installing the game in Windows 7 compatibility mode in Windows 8.
