Have anyone seen this file name or site? It appeared on my PC and I don't where it came from

    http://file.net/process/fabs.exe.html

The process known as **Verzeichnisüberwachung und Hilfsaufgaben für die Medienbibliothek** or **FABS - Helping agent for MAGIX media database** belongs to software **FABS - file change and backup server** by **MAGIX AG** (www.magix.com).

The program has no visible window. File FABS.exe is not a Windows core file. The program can be uninstalled in the Control Panel. It can change the behavior of other programs or manipulate other programs. FABS.exe is able to record inputs and monitor applications. Therefore the technical security rating is 44% dangerous, however also read the users reviews.

In case of problems with FABS.exe, you can do the following:

That is all fine and dandy, but what about the important parts:

    What does it do?

    Why is it there?

    Do I need it?

Why is it included in the MS Windows 8.1 install?
