You can drop any folder, including Dropbox or a sub-folder of Dropbox under Favorites.
How can I add Google Drive / Dropbox folder to the Windows Explorer Side Panel?
SkyDrive takes a more prominent place with Windows 8.1 Windows Explorer Side Panel. I would however be able to add other services to the side panel in Windows Explorer. Most of the post I have seen are related to removing SkyDrive (http://www.howtogeek.com/167058/how-to-disable-skydrive-integration-in-windows-8.1/), but I wish to add folders.
How could I add my Google Drive Folder and DropBox folder to be featured in the same fashion?

Hello Jose,
Although Windows 8.1 does not allow you to add any kind of a items to the factory-set positions, you can add Cloud Services such as DropBox or Google Drive to sub-areas such as under Favorites (which allows for the same quick access you'd get with Skydrive's current function).

2015-03-16T08:36:02+00:00 I see a lot of people are having this problem.
I didn't do anything, but a Dropbox and Google Drive are already listed under my favorites. Maybe they're added when I installed Dropbox and Google Drive to my WIndows 8.1 machine. Even so, when I type a search string into the search box in Windows Explorer, it doesn't find anything in my Dropbox or Google Drive cloud directories.
I'm sure the vast majority of Windows 8.1 users want to be able to search their computers and have the option of searching their own choice of cloud service directories included in the search. What is the solution?
Also, can someone explain or point me to documentation about when I should search under various directories? This PCversus my personal user directory under This PC versus Desktop versus Favorites?
Thanks.

2015-02-24T19:41:19+00:00 Also keep in mind that when you download the desktop client that everything in your Dropbox is also stored on the device. The app alone does not do that -it pretty much just takes you to the online site. The desktop client will store everything though. I had a tablet once that didn't have much space and it ended up getting full because of the dropbox desktop.
You can, however, go to the website and tell Dropbox which folders to sync to that particular device. I made a folder in Dropbox specifically to hold anything that I wanted to be able to access from that device (only recent pictures or anything I thought I might need while I was on that device) and then I had Dropbox sync ONLY that folder (but only for that device. My other devices that had more storage still synced everything). Worked like a charm!

2015-02-24T19:34:51+00:00 I found the answer to this! It is not true that you cannot add this folder. The problem is that you have only downloaded the app. you have to also download the desktop client from the dropbox site (I'm not sure which page exactly, but I think it is: https://www.dropbox.com/install I had the app installed, but as soon as I downloaded the desktop client, Dropbox appeared in my Windows Explorer under Favorites!
